The Americans fell just short of capturing the gold medal today, and with that, the hearts of all Americans. They pulled a goal out of nowhere to extend the game to overtime, but just could not overcome the Canadians in the end. What an end to a great hockey tournament. I do not think that it could have gone any better for the Olympics or for the NHL. Therefore, I will be the first to make sure to tell the NHL to keep allowing their players to partake in the Olympic tournament. It was something special and I am glad that I took the time to watch it.
Now, on to the next thing that is sparking my brain right now as I sit watching Track and Field on tv and listening to an absurd mix of music provided by the itunes self dj thing. You may ask yourself, what is it about these activities that have sparked any interesting topic in your head? I would have to respond, that it is the topic of performance enhancing drugs. This is a very huge topic in our world today. I cant help but sit here and think about all of the music that has been made under the influence of several drugs and where we would be as a society without it. Therefore, the obvious connection comes in while I watch Track and Field on tv at the same time that I cannot help but think that performance enhancing drugs should in fact be allowed in our sports today.
If these drugs are made universally available and permitted, then there would truly be no limit to what can be done. I know that there are arguments out there claiming that allowing them would be supporting their use, and these drugs are extremely dangerous and in the wrong hands can cause serious damage. My argument is that most things in life are the exact same way. Also, the use of such drugs will not be required and will be purely optional. I cant help but think about how things like driving are dangerous in the exact same way. Yes, I am aware that there is an age requirement to be allowed to drive in order to help make it safe, but lets be honest what is the real difference between some 13 year olds and some 16 year olds. I say if you want to use steroids and take whatever risks may come with that, then you should be allowed to.
Also, just think about how much more entertaining sports will become. If you think there are hard hits and fast amazing players now, imagine them juiced up by professional steroid doctors. People will become monsters. Look back to Rocky 4 when Drago, on steroids, killed Apollo Creed. A "clean" Rocky Balboa pulled off a tremendous upset, made the steroid riddled Russian bleed and knocked that bastard out. However, it is now common knowledge that Stallone is all about HGH, but at the time people really made him into a great American hero for destroying that drugged up Drago. This same exact sort of thing could run rampant throughout our sports if we allow for universal use of these drugs.
I think that our sports can only benefit from universal acceptance of these drugs. Many people will say that these drugs are cheating and will offer an unfair advantage to those who are using them over those who are not. I think that this will only add to the interest and intrigue in sports. Imagine how athletes who do not use drugs and still break records and win titles will be viewed. All that will have to be done will be to keep seperate stats. Every athlete will be tested and it will be known who is using and who is not and in the stat books there will be a denotation for those who use the drugs. Just imagine if someone who does not use steroids is able to continually beat out people who do use. That person will become the greatest American athlete of all time. I think that the use of steroids by certain athletes will only help to bring about a turn in the American psyche. Right now everyone who wants to get ahead looks to those popular athletes who secretly used steroids in the past as an example. What if we are able to change that and put clean athletes up on the biggest of pedestals that young people can look up to and vow to themselves that they will stay clean for their lives for the chance to be just like them.
Lets be completely honest here, most of todays athletes are either already on or have already used steroids at some point anyway. I know that there are those who have never used, but I will guarantee that the majority have. It is a problem throughout the entire American sports world reaching down through high schools and probably further. So, I say we eliminate the secrecy, allow these drugs to be used, and use this to allow for new clean heros to step forward and prove that great amazing things can be achieved without these drugs. If we really want to change things and protect our younger generations I think that we really must consider making this change. Consider it for yourself. Thanks for reading

Goldie Locked?
The 2010 winter olympics come to a close tomorrow evening, but not before the biggest event takes place. The final game between the mens US and Canadian team for the hockey gold medal should be an epic final showdown. I am ecstatic. The first game between these two teams just one week ago kept me captivated from beginning to end. I hope that this game will come somewhere close to that. However, as I predicted a week ago, I think that the Canadians are finally awake and ready to take on whatever they need to in order to take down their competition. My inner American spirit is calling out in contrast. I am so hopeful for an American victory that I cannot stand it. Now, I am not as crazy about it as say any Canadian is, but that does not mean that I cannot proudly cheer on my countries team. So, it will be with all of my might that I will sit on the couch and cheer the boys on.
I cannot even imagine what it takes to compete in anything at that sort of level, but it is pretty awesome trying. I can barely motivate myself to do even the most mundane of tasks on certain days, much less compete with the best athletes in the world on a daily basis like they do. I am inspired by the effort that it must take to do these things, but with that said I also admit that my current mental state is definitely lacking. I cannot wait until the moment that I find what it is that makes me tick. I cannot wait for that one moment that makes me realize that I am the best man that I can be and the man that I finally want to be.
So, tomorrow night, do whatever it takes to get yourself in a comfortable position to take in a masterpiece of a game. I guarantee that it will not only invigorate your senses and pride, but it will make you seek out the best in your personal life. These are the people who are achieving their dreams, and it should make you realize that the only difference between them and you is just a little bit more effort. Get out there and get your own personal medal, and dont forget to celebrate like a Canadian Female. Thanks for reading

Say What Say What!?
Finally, I have some time to write on the blog again. Sorry Ive been too busy over the past two days to really write anything good, but this will blow your mind. While I havent had much time to sit down and write, I have indeed had time to become dumbfounded by a few of the things that people are doing these days to make themselves feel and look better. The two things about to be discussed both freak me out and somewhat disgust me. The first of these things is done solely by women, and the second I find is primarily done by women. All of this only furthers my belief in the one main fact in life. Bitches be Crazy.
The first absurd thing that I must let you all in on is something that I came across a few days back, and to be honest with you I am surprised that I knew nothing about it until then. This thing is known as Vajazzling. I know, your thinking Vajazzling, it sounds dirty yet fun. Well, it is exactly that. Vajazzling is basically the practice of bedazzling ones Vagina. This is nuts. I just dont understand how this ever came about in the first place, much less how anyone decided that it sounded like a good enough idea to partake in. To let you know how "popular" this is, Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared on the George Lopez show and described this new bizarre trend and no one really seemed to know what to say. She even said 'it looks like a disco ball down there'. Also, apparently several Salon's offer Vajazzling now. Creepy Creepy Creepy.
The second thing that I realized is going on way too much is the practice of older people, especially older women, getting braces. I am against older people getting braces. I understand that they want better teeth and all that, but I mean come on, they have lived with those damn teeth for that long, whats another couple of years. Stop getting braces creepy old ladies, and if you arent going to stop, at least have the decency to get multi-colored ones and make them as bright as possible, that way we all have something to giggle at, instead of your ridiculousness that is.
So there you have it. Welcome to the world of Vajazzling and old creepy women with their child braces. I would put up pictures of these things, but Im concerned that the combination of bedazzled Vaginas and creepy old lady braces might get me kicked off. So, if your intrigued I suggest you do your own searching and find out whats up for yourself. Thanks for reading

Get your act together idols
So, this week is the beginning of the end for American Idol as far as I am concerned. The reasoning behind this claim is that the talent thus far is extremely sub par, no Paula, the terrible addition of Ellen, and the imminent departure of Simon. Idol has had several great moments and stars in the past but I say we just scratch this season right now while we are ahead of the game and put Idol to rest for good. Its time for another show to come along and catch our imaginations.
While Im at it, I might as well call for the ending of several other over played reality series. I think its fairly obvious to everyone which ones should go. Survivor, Amazing Race, and any sort of B star dating show on VH1 should all be cancelled immediately and never aired again. I know that Amazing race is currently on its 11th season and Survivor is definitely close to that. As far as the VH1 shows are concerned they reached their peak when Pumpkin spit into New York's face all those years ago.
I realize that reality series shouldnt be the only ones put under the microscope. Its also important to realize that I am really only bringing up shows that I personally dislike, but I would like to think that my preferences are basically in line with most people in this country. Lets get rid of 24, every CSI, every Law and Order, and anything having to do with teenage girls being pregnant. I will admit that from time to time the CSI and Law and Order shows have good moments, but I find it truly ridiculous that each one has several off shoots. I will allow each series to retain one show and maybe switch off characters from episode to episode. Otherwise, there is no excuse for 24 and 16 and Pregnant to have any hold on our television schedule.
Finally, there is one star, or family I guess, that we as a country need to eliminate completely from our lives. That would be Jon and Kate. I was a fan when their show first appeared on TLC, but after all of the drama and silliness, I can no longer take them, especially Kate. Lets get rid of all of these things now and for good.
Its time for us to take control of our television programming and get ourselves together. Thanks for reading

NFL be Crazy
Today I could not help but notice the fact that two NFL teams cut two big stars. First, the Chargers dropped Tomlinson, and later the Eagles decided to part ways with Westbrook. This is not the first year that this sort of thing has been happening. Every year there seems to be a player or set of players who have just reached the end of their usefulness as far as NFL football is concerned. Im really not sure what my thoughts are on this idea. I am aware that there is quite a bit of money involved in these decisions, but it seems to me that there just needs to be another way for these players to be let go.
I guess I am just another person who likes the idea of the hero being able to walk off into the sunset victorious. Professional sports, however, does not allow for this to happen as often as we would like. There have been many players who have been forced to just fade away into obscurity, or made to retire before they wanted. I think that both the Chargers and Eagles should have allowed these two players especially to stay on with the team. These two players have been huge stars over the last few seasons, and in the case of Tomlinson helped to bring a struggling franchise back to the brink of a championship.
Now, after saying all of this I cant help but to think of certain athletes who dont take the hints and stay far too long. My personal prejudices lead me to think of Bret Favre. I am aware that he had one of his best seasons ever this past year, but lets be honest, he was terrible for years leading up to this season. Also, players like Joe Montana and Sammy Sosa come to mind. These guys were forced to sign with different teams at the tail end of their careers because of inability to play at the levels that they once did. This makes me sad, but I also am able to see things the way that their former teams saw things as well.
I guess, that the main lesson to learn here is that all is fair in business. Sometimes the hero is allowed to finish things out the way they want to, and yet others, these guys are just forced to do what they have to in order to eek out all they can from their careers. Business is Business. Thanks for reading

Well Well
I hope that all of you took my advice and took in the Olympic masterpiece that took place last night. The hockey game between the Canadians and Americans was awesome. It was a great game and it went pretty much exactly the way that I had predicted it would go. However, now that the preliminary round is over, I look to the Canadians to bounce back stronger than ever and probably go through the rest of the tournament to win the gold medal. Im looking forward to the rest of the tournament and hope beyond hope that somehow that Americans are able to prove me wrong and pull out a tremendous overall victory.
Now, for all you hard rock fans out there, I would like to point you in the direction of a couple of bands. First, are two bands that are going to be appearing here at Club Fever. They are Halestorm and Adelitas Way. Im kind of excited about the fact that they are gonna be here and I am contemplating whether or not I should pop the 10 bucks and check it out. Also, you might want to check out Skillet. These bands are definitely good for some old fashioned head banging if you are in need.
Lastly, I feel it is important to make it known how truly glorious the tv show Archer is. I think it is the funniest show on tv right now. I love the fact that it can go above and beyond other shows due to the fact that it is a cartoon. It has a great cast to do the voice overs and the jokes are just hilarious. Make sure to check it out as soon as you can if you havent yet.

Big Sunday in Canada
Its all on you Canada. You better beat USA otherwise everyone north of the border will probably go into some sort of terrible depression. Im looking forward to a great game either way, and lets be honest I hope that the big USA gets the win, but its gonna be tough. However, it is possible.
For those of you who have no real affection for the game of hockey but still need something to get you through your sunday, I suggest you check out the Jonas Brothers music video for Bounce. This video isnt really an attempt for great music by the Brothers Jonas, but it is however a pretty funny look into what it is they most likely do with a lot of their free time. This video is pretty much the exact way that I wish I could spend every day of my life. It just looks like a blast.
Yesterday, and for about the past week, I have been singing the praises of car racing, especially Danica Patrick. In the Nationwide race yesterday she finished 31st. This may not seem like any sort of achievement at all, however, it is very important that she actually finished the race. This is a great way for her to start her career in Nascar. I think she is getting a lot of great experience in Nascar and she has and will only continue to get better in these races, and lets be honest, she is still hot. So, in the end, its all good.
No matter how you choose to spend the final moments of your weekend, I hope that it suits you well and that you enjoy it. If you are like me, get ready for a great hockey game tonight and get your popcorn ready. Thanks for reading

Find A New Way
A weird thing seems to be taking place over and over in my life. As I go through each and every moment the time feels like it is going by so slowly but in reality I am realizing more and more how quickly the time is going by. However, I am finding out more and more how important it is to find a new way to enjoy life and the moments in it. I admit that I have been struggling with this for a long time, but I am focused on learning to find that new way. I am both excited and somewhat fearful and anxious about the future. No matter how I feel about it, it will come, and I will welcome whatever it brings.
The very near future brings me another opportunity to watch Danica Patrick race in the Nascar Nationwide series. I am oddly becoming more interested in car racing, especially any car being driven by someone who looks like Danica. My new found interest in this sport is primarily driven (pun intended) by my interest in her. However, it is not lost on me that there are several talented individuals in Nascar.
Now, looking back on the very recent past I must tell you about a situation that I found myself in last night. I was preparing for some good sleep when I received a strange text message from a number that I did not know. So, obviously I answered back asking the person who they were. They then responded telling me that they knew me and that I should know them. I made it known that if I did indeed know them that I was sorry for not knowing or keeping their number in my phone. I was able to finally find out that this persons name was Dawn and she was looking for someone named Cameron, and creepily enough she asked me if I was white or black, because had I been black she would have been down to hook up. I did not respond to this final message and wish Dawn the best of luck in all her endeavors, especially in finding Cameron.
I know that this post has been a bit all over the place and most likely a little odd, but thats what you get. Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far, and remember, Canada vs. USA hockey tomorrow night. Thanks for reading

Road to Recovery
Its too hard to stay away from all of you. Once again sorry for the lack of inspiring and incredible words from myself. I am feeling much better physically, but I must admit that my mental state of mind these days is in need of work. No matter what my personal state may in fact be, I cannot be stopped from sharing several things with all of you.
The first thing that I must bring you is something that I stumbled upon but cannot take full advantage of. I am speaking of Chatroulette. This magical piece of internet trash is amazing. However, you need a web cam to use it, which I personally do not have. Basically this site lets you set up a camera on yourself doing whatever it is you want to be doing (I would suggest something absolutely bizarre) and then pairs you with another user who has a camera on them doing whatever it is that they are doing. It can be quite a journey through the weirdos of the internet. If you just want a taste of what type of things go on here, I suggest you go to youtube and search chatroulette and just check out some of the videos and if it catches your fancy, get on the real site and really mess with some peoples minds.
Recently I came across a word in an older rap song that I did not really know the meaning of. So, being the curious mind that I am I took the time and looked it up. Now, I will be sharing the knowledge that I gained with all of you. The word is fag-hag, and it refers to a single woman who enjoys the company of gay men. It would seem to me that most girls today are indeed fag-hags.
A big news story from the world today is the Tiger Woods statement. I sat down and watched this, mostly because I was already home sick anyway. I truly believe that Tiger has handled this entire situation poorly from day one. There are many ways that you could face this particular situation and honestly not facing it was really the only way you could mess it up. I think he should have stood up right away at the beginning and just admitted to it and kept on playing. I do not feel that he needs any sort of therapy or anything like that, and the only reason he feels sorry is because he got caught. I think he should have just stood up said yeah I did it so what, taken his medicine from Ellin and moved on. He should never have hidden from it allowing other people to come forward and basically make up whatever they wanted to about him and the entire situation. Big mistake Tiger. My only other problem with this situation is that it is still ongoing. I dont care about it, no one should care about it other than his family, and now this will probably carry on longer than Brett Favre's sad career.
Sunday is the big showdown in the Olympics. USA vs. Canada hockey. I have watched both of the USA games and really have not been too impressed by the offense, but the goalie is very strong and should be the key to the game. It will basically be the entire Canadian team vs. Miller. Canada blew out one team so far and then struggled last night to eek out a victory in a shoot out. In the end, I think it will be a hard hitting, fast paced game. I look to USA to pull out a win in this game, which will only fuel the Canadians to overpower everyone else, and eventually USA, for the rest of the tournament.
Enjoy your weekend everyone. Thanks for reading

Apologies
Sadly, I must let you all know that I am currently a little under the weather and am not up to my highest quality. I will return to writing about and delivering to you all of the crazziness that you no doubt have come to crave here. The wait will be well worth it my friends.

Big Five Zero
It has come. A day that I am sure that the homeboy has dreaded for quite some time. Leoj turned 50 today. It blows my mind that this day is already here. I remember being a young lad and thinking that my father was old when he turned 30. Obviously as I have gotten older I have realized how quickly time goes by and how you just cant seem to slow it down no matter what you do. So, it is with great respect and gratitude that I wish my father a happy 50, and look forward to this summer for my mothers big day.
Now, as this day has finally come I have no choice but to look back on my own short 23 years. As I think back most of the things that come to mind are snapshots of moments and oddly enough certain songs that seemed to play over and over during different periods of time. I think of things like skydiving with my best friends, nights of video game marathons in high school, crazy parties and whatnot in college, hours spent trying to get people to laugh at inappropriate or inopportune times. I think of songs like Sexy Back, Yeah, Alive, and weirdly enough in college anything by Kelly Clarkson. I have some truly amazing memories to look back on, too many to recount here, and thankfully I have great friends who I can look back on these times with.
Also, a day like today makes me look forward to my own future. It is true that right now for me and for most of you, right now is not nor has it been some of the greatest times ever, but I know that soon enough we will all begin to return to the great times that epitomized our earlier years. I cant wait to make new memories with all of you and be there when you make new memories in your lives. It has been a great ride and we will all get back on track and enjoy the rest of the journey together. Take some time for yourself today to look back on where you have been and to look forward to where you are going. So, in closing, another happy bday to the leoj and as always, Thanks for reading.

Struggling
Wow, what a weekend this past weekend was. It was basically an epic lesson in how to fail. It started with some major Olympics failures, first with the tragic death of a Luger that honestly could and should have been avoided, along with an Olympic cauldron lighting fail. The failing continued right on into the NBA all-star festivities that to be quite honest left so much to be desired. It all wrapped up with a pot hole showing up out of nowhere in the middle of the Daytona 500. Hopefully you were able to manage your real life in such a way as to avoid personal failures as well.
Although this weekend was full of sporting failures, my morning today was filled with movie watching. I started the day off with watching the newest Disney channel original movie called Starstruck. I would call this movie easily missable. It basically follows the exact type of storyline as High School Musical without all the excellent singing and acting. I cannot fully criticize this movie, because I was unable to watch the entire thing due to the fact that my recording ended short and I missed about the last ten minutes or so, so I will have to attempt to catch the ending this evening. The next film that I devoured is called In the Electric Mist, starring Tommy Lee Jones as a police detective in post Katrina New Orleans. It was a pretty good mystery/almost thriller flick, but had some problems with some of the halucination scenes that they used to try and help further the story, but I would say that this movie is worth a look if you can find it. I finished up the movie watching for the day with Aliens in the Attic. Now, this is definitely a little bit of a goofy movie, but definitely worth while. It kept me interested and the little aliens supply some good moments along with the actual people in the film. Its worth a look when you are in the mood for some mindless fun.
Some of you no doubt are aware that today is Presidents Day. This day really doesnt mean much to me, and that is totally my fault. Or, perhaps it is the fault of all of America. I really do not know of anyone who actually celebrates Presidents Day in the way that it probably should be. However, I have just the thing that can help you to celebrate this nations first President. Check out this video on Youtube and enjoy yourself some Presidents Day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbRom1Rz8OA
Tomorrow is Joely's big time 50 bday. If for some reason you feel the need to disturb him on this day and find yourself in need of a way to contact him, just text me for his phone # and I shall provide it as so that you can wish him well or curse him out for providing the seed that created me, directly leading to all the craziness that you endure reading right here. Rando Thoughtos
Happy Valentines Day everyone.
You have unfortunately ventured into another barrage of randomness. I do not have a single theme that is burning through my fingers today, so you will have to sit through some random thoughts that Ive been having.
First, something blew me away last night while watching the Olympics. It came during the speed skating coverage when Apollo Anton Ohno took control. Apparently, Ohno trains ridiculously hard and was working out 4 times a day for 2 hours each time. I truly do not know how to respond to this. As someone who used to rock two workouts a day and took part on ridiculous training regiments, I cannot even fathom what type of energy and will power it would take to workout like that. Then, I realized that there are no doubt athletes who work even harder than that. I dont know if I feel sorry for these athletes and all the work and pain they are struggling through, or if I feel jealous of them. I would love to have the opportunity to be able to have the chance to workout like that. I wonder what type of things I could achieve if I had that type of ability. In the back of my mind I always knew that high end athletes worked out quite a bit, but it was not until I heard some of the numbers that it really hit me, and as I said I am astounded. Truly amazing.
Next, I want to say a few things to a Mr. Jay Z. Jigga, we all get it, your life is awesome and you have everything you could ever want. I no longer want to hear about how awesome you and your life are anymore, so please stop rapping about it. I cannot get into your music anymore, because I cannot associate with it. I admit that I cannot truly associate with much of what is talked about in rap and hip hop songs, but I can relate to a few things from time to time. So, Jay Z, take my advice and just give up the rapping and just focus on your awesome life.
I am ashamed to admit to you all know that yesterday I found myself watching the Nascar Nationwide race. I tuned in to see exactly how Danica Patrick would handle her move into the Nascar world. I tuned in with the idea of having to put up with the boringness that is car racing just to get some looks and insight from Ms. Patrick, but in the end I found myself enjoying the actual racing and everything else that went along with the race. I came away caring more about the rest of the drivers and every other part of the race other than Danica. I have always enjoyed Jimmie Johnson, but he is in the big boy races, and now I must say that I am dangerously close to becoming a Nascar fan, which means that I am basically right on the edge of being considered an Indiana hick who likes to watch cars make a bunch of left turns. I say bring it on, because I love watching them cars go real real fast.
Hope you have found a way to enjoy your Feb. 14th, whether it is a traditional Valentines Day or you have joined the revolution and are enjoying your very first Valenguys Day with the Bros. Either way Thanks for reading

Hitting Extremes
Over the past few weeks lotee people and news stories have been trying to convince me to start running barefoot. This scares me. I think about some of the places that I usually run or places that I have had to run in the past and I just cant even imagine running barefoot through them. What about all the little pebbles and what not that you just cant avoid when running? That just has to absolutely kill your foot. As it is myself and everyone I know who enjoys running is fearful of any sort of injury or pain that will keep them from running comfortably.
In the past I have dealt with minor knee problems that took me out of the game for a little while, and even though I have no real reason to run as much as I like to, it still pained me to not be able to run when I wanted. However, my mind cant help but wonder if these people might have a point. They all claim to be much happier with their running, along with running farther and better than they ever have before after switching to barefoot. Plus, there is an interesting shoe type thing that might help to push me over the edge and give this unique sport a try. They are called Vibram 5 Finger shoes. They look like a sock and have five separate toe spots along with an extremely thin sole. These things interest me a great deal, but I still cant help but think that this whole idea might just be too extreme for me. Here is a web address about this very thing, along with a picture of the vibram shoes, check them out if youre interested in finding out why you should run barefoot. http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/02/12/barefoot.running/index.html?hpt=C2
Also, I feel I must let you in on another extreme item in clothing. This item started years and years ago. However, it has evolved into a particularly crazy thing. This item has taken extremes too far. It is ridiculous, and it is called the Hood Thong. It looks exactly the way it sounds, it is a hood with another line of fabric that wraps all the way down and back up around forming the regular thong where the regular thong would be. It is nuts, however, I would definitely be interested to see one in person. Here is a picture, but if you want more of a look I suggest that you check out HoodThong.com.
Extremes are always a dangerous situation. If I have learned anything about extremes through my own experiences is that you must be very very careful whenever such a thing presents itself. So, it is with this in mind that I caution all of you to be very cautious and careful if you so choose to take part in either one of these or any other form of extreme. However, if you go for extremes, make sure you leave nothing behind and go all out. Balls to the walls my friends. Thanks for reading

I'll get you through
This whole winter thing really blows. I have always disliked the winter months, and over the years, my relationship with them has only grown colder (sorry for the pun). However, I am here to help get you through. I am going to enlighten you on several television shows and movies that you should check out to help the time fly. You may already be aware of some of these, but if there are any that you know nothing about, I highly recommend that you check them out.
First, the Olympics start today, and obviously I dont know if these Olympics will be any good, but I would suggest catching at least a little bit of the games. Anything to do with hockey or crazy snowboard stunts is sure to please, along with the downhill skiers who seem to go unhealthily fast. Sadly, a luger died today during a practice run which puts a little damper on the festivities, but Im sure the rest of the athletes will continue on to make at least some of these games enjoyable.
I have watched quite a few movies over the last few months, but there are very few that I would call gotta see its. If you are into mystery thriller types, I would say that Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, or if you enjoy comedy I would say that Couples Retreat is worth a viewing. A couple other movies I would say are at least one shot would be Knowing, Armored, and In Bruges.
Now, there are seemingly too many shows on TV that are worth watching. The first set would be considered family or kids shows, but still worth a look. These are The Penguins of Madagascar, The Wizards of Waverly Place, and as always Jeopardy. A few of my other favorites include Psych, Archer, Modern Family, Leverage, The Buried Life, My Life as Liz, 30 Rock, and always the Real World. Also, the usual greatness that is American Idol is always worth a look, but you never know how good its gonna be, because lets be honest the year that Taylor Hicks won was just a joke, same with Ruben, and Fantasia. Also, this weekend Disney is debuting a new tv movie about a dude who is a pop star and a regular girl that fall in love or something like that, but I plan to write about that after I view it. Now, if youre not interested in any of these and are looking for older shows on hulu or dvd that might catch your eye, I would suggest Arrested Development, What About Brian, The Loop, Glee, and my personal favorite Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
I have given you several options to take up some time in your miserable winter lives. Hopefully, with these distractions to ease your mind we will all be able to get out of these months and back into the gloriousness of spring followed by heavenly summer. Trust me I realize that I no doubt left out several great movies that are out now and tv shows that are worth a look, so feel free to mention them on the comment boxes. Thanks for reading

Cutler is as Cutler does
Today I bring you into a debate that has raged in the Houston house for several months. Last offseason, the Bears made a trade to acquire Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos. At the time I was totally stoked. I thought that the quarterback savior for the Bears was finally on his way. However, one season later the Bears are in exactly the same spot that they usually are. They are coming off a very disappointing season in which the QB choked away far too many games through poor play and many many turnovers. The truth of the matter is that there were several factors that all worked together to crush the Bears season this year. The injuries to Urlacher and Forte, the lack of a wide receiver, awful line play, and ofcourse too many interceptions thrown by Cutler.
The debate about Cutler is this. My father believes that Cutler is solely to blame for the Bears struggles this season and that he is a terrible quarterback. My take is that Cutler may in fact be the least to blame for the struggles, and it is far too early to judge his career, especially with the Bears. My father also does not enjoy Cutler's attitude. He sees Cutler as a brash arrogant punk who has no real talent. However, I love his attitude, and it is obvious that the man has talent. In my eyes Cutler is basically Brett Favre without all the other talent around him and with without all of the annoying retirement crap. Cutler did the best he could with the situation he was put in, and lets be honest he is the bears quarterback which means he really has no real shot to do any damage with the passing game. Since my birth, the Bears have basically been an average team at best, with the exception of one magical year when they lost to Manning in the Super Bowl. Now, that year had nothing to do with the offense, but with a defense that was still playing well lead by the efforts of Urlacher (who was injured all season long this year) and Devin Hester who single handedly won about six games that year all by himself.
My father believes that the whole season is Cutlers fault. He points to the constant interceptions and apparently negative attitude to explain the losses. He just does not understand that with no one to throw the ball to, and with no doubt several missed plays and errors by the rest of the team, that many of the interceptions were in fact not Cutlers fault. I am aware that he has thrown more interceptions since he entered the league than any other quarterback, except for Brett Favre, who if you pay attention to the TV is considered a damn American football hero. Also, my father always looks to Cutler's attitude as a major problem. In my eyes Cutler is no different from any other star athlete. He is confident, a little cocky, and very sure of himself. I like his attitude. I dont want my quarterback sulking off the field with every mistake, I want a quarterback who knows he is good and is not happy with mistakes and will do what it takes to overcome the problems.
Here is the deal. Cutler, along with the rest of the players, made far too many mistakes this season leading to several losses. In the end, Cutler is the quarterback for the Chicago Bears. I am afraid that he is doomed to be an average to sub-par quarterback until he is no longer the Chicago Bears quarterback. The Bears must rely on great defense and special teams in order to win, the offense will never be responsible for victories in Chicago. On second thought, the only way the offense will ever be able to make a dent in Chicago is with a great running back. If you need evidence from me in order to back up my claims just look to the last time the Bears won a Super Bowl. 1985, when the Monsters of the Midway, along with the Refrigerator Perry and Walter "Sweetness" Payton nearly led the Bears to an undefeated season.
Until the Bears get the defense and running game in order, they will be doomed to suffer through mediocrity. Sorry Cutler, your chances for greatness went right out the door as soon as you decided that you didnt like your new coach in Denver. Hindsight is 20/20 hey buddy. Thanks for reading
PS. do not google image search Jay Cutler. It turns out there is a creepily huge bodybuilder named Jay Cutler. Needless to say I was more than a little shocked by ginormous muscle man when researching Cutler.

Good luck staying with me on this one
Today's post is gonna be a bit of everything. I dont have a theme to write on today, so instead you are all gonna get a little taste of the jumble of topics in my brain right now. The first and obviously the least pressing matter is my disgust with the constant changes that Facebook keeps bringing to its website. Zuckerberg and his goons have crossed a line. Every time I get used to the changes that they made, they go ahead and make changes again. It is very upsetting to me and I dont like it. I miss the original Facebook, where you could pretty much stalk any person you wanted which led to quite a bit of chicanery. However, Zuckerberg took it upon himself to take most if not all of the creepiness right out of the gloriousness that used to be Facebook. As it is, I am inches away from giving up on the Face.
Next, I want to wish all the bros an early happy Valenguys day. I hope it is a brolicious for you as I hope it is for me. I understand that the traditional mold of Valentines day is looked upon with great praise by women, but it is time to change this made up holiday to one where bros get a chance to bro out as hard as they want. Lets change it to Valenguys day once and for all and give the girlies a different day where dudes give them chocolates and flowers and what not.
As the days and years pass after college, I am really starting to realize how difficult it is to keep up with working out. It was easy as pie when I was in school, mostly because I didnt take the school part seriously and often times I skipped class to go ahead and workout. So, now that I am out of school and away from the other bros it is becoming harder and harder for me to keep my workouts up. Sometimes I can go a couple of weeks of good workouts, but then all of a sudden the urge just goes away. I am wondering if this is going to be a constant thing from now on, or perhaps I am just going through an extended burnt out phase paying me back for all of the punishment I did to my body during school. I am not really sure, but I suppose only time will tell.
Along with my inability to keep my workouts going, I am realizing more and more how much my job sucks. I cant really remember noticing if people hated their jobs as much as I do when I was a kid, but looking back at it, it seems highly possible that most people have hated their jobs since the beginning of time. It is crazy to me how oblivious I was not only to this but to all sorts of things that are becoming apparent to me as I get older and see the shit that goes down in the real world. The biggest problem with my perception of the real world is that it is very skewed. I am stuck in Indiana, which for the most part probably only deals with about 70 percent of actual real world situations. Also, for the most part my dealings with the real world involve listening to the wisdom of a 50 year old black man who hates his job more than me. This is a problem for me, because lets be honest, while I can listen to his problems and talk about his shit, it would be very difficult for him to sit and listen to what I call problems. So, without delving too much more into the different aspects of my day to day life, it is a fairly interesting mix of a young white man's world with the wisdom of a much older black man, all of whom hate the situations they are in. All I can say is, it is what it is.
I fully realize that for most of you, this particular post holds no real relevance, and while I usually try to keep things on the light side of life I just had no themes to go on. This vomiting of thoughts and unimportant rants will today will allow me to return to more fortuitous posts in the future. In the near future I will go over some more of the debates that exist within the Houston household, along with more of the crazy sorts of kids that are roaming the malls of America. So, look forward to the future in much the same way that you look forward to a good gulp of knowledge. Thanks for reading

Judge Ellen?
The newest season of American Idol officially kicked off a few weeks ago. Until todays episode we have been forced to once again sit through the auditions for far too long. These episodes do have some good moments, but they have truly begun to anger me. It seems to me that they are letting far too many people through to the Hollywood round. They need to take the audition round a bit more seriously and only allow actual contenders through. I truly want the best of the best instead of having to sit through many many singers in the Hollywood round who should have never been there in the first place. However, this year with the departure of Paula we got to see different celebrities sit in for the auditions. Katy Perry was by far the best of these since she openly mocked some of the contestants, and verbally sparred with Kara. Hopefully next year, if there is a next year for Idol or at least one that I care about, they cut the audition episodes a little shorter or figure out another way to spice them up.
Tonight's episode is the first in the Hollywood round episodes. Also, tonight is the beginning of Ellen's era as a judge. This makes no sense to me. I enjoy Ellen, and her show is pretty good, but what makes her worthy of being a judge of a singing contest. Perhaps if American Idol was a comedy contest and or regular person contest then I would understand. It seems to me that Idol missed out on the opportunity of bringing in another former singer/performer to fill Paula's spot. This brings up a perfect opportunity for me to throw out my opinion of who this person should have been. I have given this some thought and am doing so again right now. It is my opinion that American Idol should have brought in someone like Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton John, or perhaps even Janet Jackson. I just dont understand the Ellen choice, but the rest of the season will go to prove the success or failure of that choice.
Lastly, today I want to bring up a few quick updates to previous blogs. I want to touch on the celebrity crush very quickly, because it has become apparent to me that I left out a few of the year long to maybe even lifetime crushes. One such person would have to be Mila Kunis, and one that is more recent but could last a while is the singer Jesse James. Also, I left out old school Britney and Christina. Next, I want to bring your attention to a few more music groups that I think you should be paying attention to. These are Chromeo, the previously mentioned Jesse James, and Family Force Five. Just as with movies, I must admit that my tastes in music tend to go off the beaten path. Take my words with a grain of salt, but many of you have sat through my music before so if you liked any of it I guarantee that you will find something you like in at least one of these groups.
No doubt some of you do not care about American Idol, but I do so you get what you get. I would recommend watching tonight just to see how Ellen handles the situation either way. Enjoy the snow thats falling around most of the country, and Thanks for reading

The real reason
I cannot help but say, I told you so. The Saints won the Super Bowl just as I hoped and believed that they would. It is a great accomplishment for the team and for the city itself. There were several great plays during the game that helped the Saints gain the upperhand and dethrone the great Manning.
In the end, the game was great and CBS did a wonderful job in focusing on the action instead of showing the Manning family a hundred times, or the Kardashian gypsy clan. The commercials for the most part I felt were fairly sub-par, except for a few standouts. The Who were exactly what you expected them to be, old dudes who couldn't sing or bring the energy anymore, and the rest of the side entertainment at the game left quite a bit to be desired. This makes absolutely no sense to me. How can the biggest spectacle in American sports be happy with constantly playing it safe? I just do not understand how one boobie several years ago brought down the entertainment value for the rest of time. I mean boobs are integral to the life making and sustaining process, but the second one comes out on tv we need to shut everything down. Its time for CBS to get with the times and move past the boobie incident.
No matter what you think of the game or the coverage of it, it is blatant to me that there is only one reason that the Saints won the game. Yes, the players got on the field and put a beat down on several people, the coaches had a great game plan, Manning through a late interception, and the Who Dat nation was loud and proud. None of these are the real reason that the Saints won that game. You have to look to the circumstances surrounding the team. They are from an area that still needs quite a bit of help as far as the environment is concerned. There is only one man and group that can help in that sort of situation and I truly believe that they had quite a bit to do with the victory last night. I wont name any names, but they have several attributes associated with them, such as, earth, fire, wind, water, and heart. Their leader helps to combine all these powers and solve any problem that may exist. It is very important to remember that The Power is Yours. Thanks for reading

Football's Day of Days
Today is the day. The whole season has pointed to this day, and it is finally here. For today is the 44th Super Bowl. I am excited to see the game, but I am more excited about the prospect of finally ending all the talk. The past two weeks have been nothing but a love affair for Peyton Manning. Yes, I get it, he is a great player (possibly the best). However, unless you have forgotten he used to be extremely prone to choking. All it will take is a violent flashback to one of those old Patriot playoff games and homeboy will start to choke it all away, or a brutal beat down from a snarling Saints D-lineman leaving the Colts with the talents of Curtis Painter(Right Bret, should have run that ball). As you can probably tell, I really don't much care for the Indianapolis Colts. I cannot really explain my dislike of them, mostly because I enjoy Peyton outside of football but I just cannot stand him when he is throwing that football. So, in the end, I hope for and believe in a Saints victory today. It seems as if the Saints are riding high and there may be too much confidence on the Colts sideline, to the point of looking past the Saints and not focusing enough, or not giving enough credit to the beat down ability of the Saints D.
As you could have guessed, I have made these opinions quite known throughout the Houston House. It may be the fact that these are my opinions that cause the rest of the House to go against them, or they may in fact believe the opposite to actually be true. I am more obliged to believe the former, but it should make for a lively evening as the game bears itself out. With today being the biggest day for American football, I cannot help but think about the fact that this summer will be a huge summer for world wide Football, or soccer.
Thats right, this summer is the return of the World Cup. I truly cannot wait for this event to begin. I absolutely love the World Cup. I enjoy watching the US team every time the Cup comes around, eventhough I know that they stand no chance at all. This years cup has several favorites that have the opportunity to go the distance. Teams like Spain, Germany, Italy, and Argentina seem to have the best of chances. However, my favorite is the Netherlands squad. The reasons are three fold. First, they have the sweetest orange jerseys of all time. Second, their players have awesome names like Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Lastly, they have great talent and had a great showing in the 2006 World Cup. Many people will look to the other favorites that I mentioned to cruise easily through the tournament, but it always seems that the teams with the greatest talent often struggle. I think the team that eventually wins the Cup has fairly good talent, not great, but has tremendous heart and a bit of luck out on the pitch.
Today is indeed a great day for football, but this summer will be a most glorious time around the world for football. Regardless of whether or not you like soccer or football, today's game will have something for you. Watch it, love it, embrace it, because it is America. Thanks for reading

The celebrity crush...
News is that Lady Gaga is on the market for a boyfriend. I cannot lie, this interests me. I am not saying that I will somehow become this man or hatch any ill fated schemes at attempting to make it happen, but I am saying that I would not scoff at the opportunity. However, this brings up a perfect situation to discuss the celebrity crush. In my mind there are several types of regular crushes, and in much the same way there are several types of celebrity crushes. There are crushes to the point where you just really enjoy their movies or music, there are crushes where you find the celebrity attractive and feel drawn to their looks as well as personality, there are two day crushes, two minute crushes, and lifetime crushes. I will admit that I have a celebrity in mind for each one of these crushes, and I will share a few of them with you now.
The first type of celebrity crush we will explore is the crush that really isnt a crush. It is more of an intense liking of the persons work. Now, I realize that there are several people who can fit into this type, and there are different celebrities in different genres who can hold this title. For instance, I really enjoy Jason Statham movies (except for In the Name of the King...yeesh), I love all of Phil Collins music, and I truly enjoy Daniel Tosh's comedy. Although I like all of these peoples work, it does not mean that I have any sort of romantic feelings toward them.
Next, we will explore the crush that really matters. This is the crush where you have romantic feelings toward a certain celebrity. This, too, has different types within it. There are day crushes, year crushes, hour crushes, and what I call the lifetime crush. I would say that in the past I have had day crushes on celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, and Tiffany Amber Theissen. These mostly come about when I see a movie or tv show and then fall in love with the characters that they play for a quick amount of time. Year crushes come about when I am into a celebrity for a long period of time, but I know in the back of my mind that it will go away sooner or later. Rachel Bilson, Trish Stratus, and Svetlana Shusterman from Real World Key West are all examples of Year crushes.
Lastly, is the lifetime crush. This is a crush much like the year crush, but instead this time you are not sure if it will ever go away. The celebrity that I am fairly certain will be a lifetime crush for me is a fairly new celebrity on the scene. Therefore, I am not quite certain about this, but I do know that it will at least last a while longer. In that case I will call her my current lifetime crush. Her name is Selena Gomez, and yes I am completely aware that she is fairly young and if that makes me weird then I am weird. Do not act like you do not have the same sorts of feelings for other celebrities, because you know you do. Dont hate, congratulate. Thanks for reading

When two or more crazy people get together....
As most of you know I often enjoy pointing out crazy people. It is this general disposition that has pointed me in a new direction. It is time to recognize the phenomenon that happens when two or more crazy people find eachother. A group of crazies forms, and they try to spread their crazy to as many people as possible. No doubt you will be able to find thousands if not millions upon millions of examples of this. There are cults, political organizations, charities, terrorists, general evil doers, universities, schools, and many other sorts of institutions whose foundation are a group of crazies trying to make you crazy.
The group of crazies that brought on this onslaught of mental activity is the group of crazy "missionaries" who tried to "rescue" a bunch of orphans from Haiti. These people are religious freaks who think they are doing Gods work and that he will protect them from the cruel Haitian Government. What they fail to realize, is that they are nuts. This group reminds me very much of a cult. The woman in charge of them has a great amount of zeal and truly believes that she is a God warrior. These sorts of people truly scare me, because they are one freakazoid thought away from the moment when they decide that a comet or other celestial body is passing over earth and is a spaceship waiting to take them to their promised land.
Another group that has me looking on in disbelief is the newly formed Tea Party. They are a political group that is so closely related to the republican party that I cannot understand their platform or philosophy. The Tea Party offices are located inside a republican party office. It just doesnt make any sense. Why are you trying to confuse yourselves. If you want to be your own party with your own candidates and platforms, then I suggest you work to separate yourselves from the republicans and most definitely stop aligning yourselves with the craziest of all crazies Sarah Palin. (Although I think she is crazy, does not mean that I cant enjoy the craziness)
I am calling upon all of you to be quite skeptical of these sorts of groups. They tend to come out of the woodwork in a time like this where the economy is down and people are looking for a cause to believe in. Keep a keen eye and be aware of these crazy mothers. You never know when they are gonna ask you to eat the special applesauce or put on the black Nikes and swig a little fruit juice. Thanks for reading.

Racecar Bed Withdrawal
It is time for me to delve further into my own psyche. Two years ago I was fortunate enough to own and sleep in an absolutely awesome Racecar Bed. It truly was a most glorious item to have as a senior in college. Many people doubted my tales of this bed, but upon seeing its magnificence, these same people came to respect and stand in awe of my tremendously decorated mattress.
I recently realized that ever since the moment I gave up that bed that I have been unhappy. Something has been missing from my life. In the past I had attributed this to a lack of companionship, a certain lack of "bro time" if you will. I thought that perhaps the horrible nature of the real world was just taking its toll on me. Living in my parents garage, enduring day after day of an awful job, or not knowing what to do with my life next. However, upon further meditation, it has slowly become apparent to me that I am in fact in Racecar Bed withdrawal.
No doubt many of you are scoffing at my epiphany, but I assure you that it is quite inscrutable. It is not until you have had something this glorious and lost it that you will know exactly the feelings that I have now. It has silently been eating away at me for some time now, and the fact that I will probably never get it back is a truly terrible revelation. I will try to look upon the good times in great favor and begin to move on. I would not wish this upon the fiercest of my enemies and I implore all of you to avoid Racecar Beds for the rest of your lives. Do not let its glories tempt you into partaking in its bad-assness. It cannot be trusted, for it will only break your heart. Yes, it is true, I am not only suffering through withdrawal, but also a broken heart.
Continue to live your lives, but be sure to carefully consider all of your future actions, for you may be entering a danger zone. Stay away from Racecar Beds, stay far far away. Thanks for reading

I Pitty The Fool Who Watches Lost
Last night was the long awaited return of the television show Lost. I must tell you that I have indeed never watched a full episode of Lost. However, I know some of the events that have taken place on this ridiculous show. There was the dreaded Polar Bear, seemingly endless amount of bullets for their guns, the smoke/fog, the others, time travel, weaponry, and a bunch of absurd characters. I do not know how anyone can watch this show. Every single person I have ever talked to that watches it usually gets so angry, or has been angry with the show in the past, that they seriously debate never watching again.
It is with this in mind that I am asking all of you to finally stop watching this show. Lets send it out on a terribly miserable note, and hopefully the losers who write this show will never get a job again. Do not let them win. I beg of you to boycott this "pull it out of your ass as you go" show. I am pretty sure that whatever crazy ending these writers have in store, if they actually have an ending ready, will only let all of you down and make you hate yourselves for wasting so much of your lives trying to figure out the riddles or whatever you call them. The one and only good thing about the fact that Lost is back, is that now we are even closer to it being gone forever. STOP WATCHING. Thanks for reading

Debates
In life there are certain debates that have been going on since before any of us were born. One such argument questions the sequence of life for a chicken. Was it the chicken, or the egg that came first? I will not pretend to know, or truthfully to care what the real answer is to this particular question. However, there are debates that come and go within our lifetimes that I feel much more comfortable offering my own opinions on. The problem with these debates is that they are not important to everyone, and in several instances they are not really important to anyone. No matter the case, these debates do persist and from time to time I will touch on the certain debates that pervade my life.
The first of these has been a quite boisterous one within the Houston household. This particular debate involves a difference of opinion between the patriarch and the youngest of his clan (me) over the abilities of one Tim Tebow. It is my opinion that while Tim Tebow may or may not be the greatest college football player of all time, that he most definitely will not be a valuable asset to any professional team within the NFL. My father sees things quite differently. He not only believes that Tebow will be valuable in the NFL, but he believes that he will indeed prosper at that level. My views match up with those of the people of note within the NFL and were recently bolstered with Tebow's performance at the Senior Bowl, where Tim fumbled the ball twice and his longest pass completion was only eleven yards. My father refuses to listen to the "professionals" and is completely willing to overlook Tebow's performance in the previously mentioned game. He believes that Tebow has "heart" and that nothing can stop him. My father refuses to acknowledge that NFL offenses cannot for the most part be manufactured around one particular player but in fact are about a system and players are brought in who can fit into the system in the best way. Dad also points to Tebow's leadership at Florida as a sign of his abilities easily transferring to the NFL. I, however, believe very strongly that the NFL is a business and in this business that Tebow's more over-emotional type of leadership just will not fly. I can only focus on Tim's physical abilities in my evaluation of him, and in so doing all I can do is see the negatives and predict nothing but a poor professional career for him. Poor Timmy.
An interesting way of trying to determine the correct prediction for Tebow's career is to look through similar players careers in the past. Off the top of my head I think of players like Eric Crouch, Charlie Ward (Like Tim, Eric and Charlie both won Heisman Trophies), and to a certain extent Vince Young. Eric Crouch was initially drafted by the St. Louis Rams as a wide receiver, but still wanted to play quarterback. His athleticism was seen as better suited for playing wideout, but a hard tackle by a defensive player caused him to have 150 cc of blood drained from his leg. Because of the injury, Crouch left the Rams before playing a game.Crouch signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in January 2005 and was allocated to the Hamburg Sea Devils of NFL Europe. Crouch converted to the safety position, recording 25 tackles and 2 passes defended. Charlie Ward was never drafted by an NFL team and decided to play NBA basketball instead. Vince Young's career is not over, but it has been mired by seemingly constant underachieving and a disastrous situation where his family feared for his life after he was benched during his third season. There are several other details within this debate that one could look at for assistance in forming their own opinion, and to tell you the truth I personally do not want to go in to any more of them. So, all in all, I cannot wait until the future will prove what side of this particular debate is closer to reality.
Im sure that for most people, this particular debate holds zero importance. However, this is my blog and this debate has been raging within the confines of the Houston family for at least the last year. If there happens to be a debate that you would like my opinion on, or my fathers for that matter, let me know and I will ponder all aspects as much as I can. Thanks for reading.

Ummm WHAT!?
My first post spoke about certain groups of freaks that are prevalent in our culture today. It is in this same light that I bring you this post. I have stumbled onto the scariest, greatest, most mind numbing, hilarious, awkward, and plain bizarre musical group of all time. You are most likely thinking, impossible. I shit you not my friends, this is the craziest group of all time GUARANTEED. Their name is Die Antwoord, and they are taking over the interweb. If you have heard of them before this I congratulate you and give you all respect as far as being ahead of the game.
Die Antwoord is a Zef Side rap group from South Africa. To be honest with you, I am not sure what Zef Side rap is, but it apparently is all the rage in South Africa. I attempted for a good few minutes to look up Zef Side rap, but alas the information was not to be found. Now, Die Antwoord is a group made up of three friends, and all of the info I am about to give you is plastered in huge print right on their website appropriately enough located at dieantwoord.com.
If you so choose I highly recommend that you check this out, but if you are too lazy Die Antwoord is made up of Zef rap-rave master: Ninja, Fre$h Futuristik rich bitch: Yolandi Vi$$er, and Beat-Monster: DJ HI-TEK. They are described as a lovable, mongrel-like entity made in Zuid Afrika, the love-child of many diverse cultures, black, white, coloured and alien, all pumped into one wild and crazy journey down the crooked path to enlightenment. I have no idea what any of that means, but after hearing them and watching their videos, it is just so obvious.
Please please please, follow the web address at the bottom of this post and watch the video for "Enter the Ninja". There are so many sights and sounds in this video that I myself do not know where to begin. The song is strangely catchy and will make you want to hear it again and sing the hook in your head and out loud all day. I must warn you that before you watch this video there appears for no apparent reason a primordial dwarf. He looks like some sort of crazy alien child who is pumped up on steroids and he is quite frightening. The rats and background drawings that exist throughout the video also make me question what in the hell is going on. Once again I thoroughly press upon you the importance of viewing this video. It will change you in many many ways. This is by far the craziest thing I have seen in a while, and trust me, that is saying something.
I am just so astounded by this revelation that I think I will most likely need several hours just to digest it. Thanks for reading.
Just go to this site and watch the Video. You must see for yourself.

The Grammys and the current state of music in my ears
Last night was the 52nd Grammy awards. I was very excited going into the event. Mostly I was excited to see several of the performances, and to a certain extent I was excited to see who would win the coveted prizes. The evening started out with one of my currently favorite performers, Lady Gaga. Now, I must point out that within our household Mother has blamed me for the persistence of Gaga's music being played by my Father. In retrospect I am not surprised that he has become drawn to her as well. She is very much a modern day mix of all the past female performers that he has taken a liking to. Her performance, however, was nothing really special (Elton John being there was pretty cool) but all in all I have to admit I saw nothing awesome in it. Little did I know that this was just a precursor for the entire show.
There was absolutely nothing during the show that was really worth my time. Pink's mid air spinning performance was by far the best, not in the theatrics of it, but her vocals were tremendous. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the actual awards left quite a bit to be desired. I am a little sick of Beyonce and Taylor Swift winning everything, but I completely understand their success. The biggest problem that I had with the awards came during the Rock section. When the nominees for these awards were announced it was like traveling back 20 years or so. The nominees were bands like Bruce Springstein, U2, Bon Jovi, Slayer, Megadeth, and others from past glory. It is time that the Grammys begin to discover todays rock scene and the bands who are influential now. Not only was I disappointed by this, but also, the amount of time that winners were given to speak after their names were announced was just ridiculous. In the end, the whole show was a let down and I want nothing more to do with it.
Today's music scene is a mix up and mash up of several different genres coming together and forcing themselves on one another. Now, I completely understand and acknowledge that my tastes in music are a bit off the wall and tend to trend more towards the masses. However, I am prepared to share with you the different bands and styles of music I think are going to be fairly popular in the near future.
In the past I have been both right on track with the way the music world is trending, and also way off base at the same time. As my roomates can attest to I tend to be somewhat ahead of the curve in certain areas and bands. So, it is in this same mindset that I point you all towards the musical stylings of Ke$ha. Right now she is the person I am looking towards having a spectacular year in the music biz. She is somewhat known already, but as her other songs continue to come out, I think her star is only going to rise.
Also, in more of a long shot, I would ask you to check out the Millionaires. I mentioned them in my previous post as I came upon them when doing my google searches and research on the emo and scene kids. The Millionaires have a sound and style that is very interesting to me. They are somewhat brash and crude, while at the same time easily mixing the sounds of several other bands who are popular today.
Another person I want to touch on is someone who has been around for a while. Micheal Buble. Micheal has been around and is extremely popular already, but until about a week ago I had not heard any of his music before. There is something oddly hypnotic to his voice and ability to string his words together in such a way that it truly makes me want to listen to him more and more. I would say that I definitely look for him to have a great year, but he has already had greatness and honestly I expect nothing else from him.
Finally, I bring to you CLIPSE. CLIPSE has been my favorite rap group since high school and are primarily the only rap that I listen to at all anymore. They are twin brothers who have a sort of confidence and in your face style to their lyrics that especially appeals to me. They have quite a bit of critical acclaim, but hopefully their popularity will rise and they will get the notice they deserve as more and more people like me mention them and continue to spread word of their abilities.
I know that this has been a bit long winded and more than likely unimportant to most of you, but as this is my blog, I will write what I want and if you are still reading then I hope you enjoyed the pictures at least. I urge you to check out the bands I have mentioned above, and even if you dont like any of them I hope that in your searching you might find just one band or new style of music that appeals to you and makes anything Ive saind worth while. Thanks for reading.
